S.Thangapazham Agricultural College is Established by the Trust ” Thiru K.Subramania Nadar Vadivoo Ammal Eductaional Trust “ Vasudevanallur in the foothills of Western Ghats. The College is approved by Govt. of Tamilnadu and Affiliated to Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. This is the only Agriculture College established in Tenkasi District and its neighboring Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar and Kanayakumari Districts. The College has state of the art infrastructure facilities.

Mr. S.THANGAPAZHAM who founded the Trust is a successful entrepreneur. He is running THANGAPAZHAM SUPERMARKET as a successful business unit. He is also a Chairman of S. THANGAPAZHAM Polytechnic College, an esteemed organisation catering the needs of the public at Vasudevanallur. Mr. Thangapazham is pivot in running this educational institution through monitoring and by involving himself in its expansion activities.Being the son of the soil, he feels he is committed to improving and well being of Vasudevanallur by making S. THANGAPAZHAM AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE (STAC) popular.Being the Secretary of a Committee School for the past ten years, he took efforts to make the Committee School upgraded as an aided school.Basically, he is a farmer for four decades. Dr. A. Ramalingam, Professor in plant Breeding and Genetics has obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. degree from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. He got M.S.Swaminathan Medal and Dr. K. Ramaiah Medal for his academic carrier. He is an eminent cotton breeder and released 13 crop varieties (Cotton SVPR 2,Cotton SVPR 3,Cotton SVPR 4,Cotton SVPR 5,Cotton SVPR 6,Cotton K 12 and TNAU Cotton SVPR 1 Hybrid (7),Rice MDU 3,Rice MDU 4,Sesame SVPR 1,Green gram K 1,Sorghum K 12 and Jack Palur 1 ) . The first intra hirsute cotton hybrid (TNAU cot. SVPRI) was developed and released by him. He served 36 Years at TNAU and have rich experience in education, research and extension. In his academic experience he served as Dean, Agricultural College and Research Institute, Killikulam during 2017 – 2019. He has implemented various schemes viz., NADP on Diversified crop cafeteria for third generation, TANII project on skill development for rural youth on Palmyrah ventures and TANII project on Integrated seed production hub. He took efforts to bring out entrepreneur development project on killikulam Agri. Business incubation forum. He has published 9 research articles in international journals and 45 research articles in National Journals. He has presenter 24 research papers in national and international symposiums. He has organized International Conference on Bio control and sustainable insect pest management (ICBS) on 29 – 31 January 2018 at killikulam. To his credit, he has guided 5 M.Sc.(Agri.) students and 2 Ph.D. Scholars.
